How to use this template

1
Update after every job

Subtract what you used after each job or at the end of each day. A running inventory prevents the expensive mistake of running out of a product mid-ceramic-coating.

2
Set realistic reorder points

Your reorder point should be: (daily usage × lead time days) + safety stock. If you use half a gallon of iron remover per week and your supplier takes 5 days to ship, reorder when you hit 1 gallon.

3
Use conditional formatting for reorder alerts

In Excel or Sheets, use conditional formatting to highlight the Needs Reorder column red when current stock drops below the reorder point. This makes low-stock items instantly visible.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I take inventory?

Weekly for high-usage items (shampoo, iron remover, microfibers). Monthly for specialty products (ceramic coatings, paint correction compounds). Never go into a booked ceramic coating week without confirming you have enough coating product in stock.
